Prof. Dr. Miruna-Maria Negrea – piano and accompaniment

MIRUNA-MARIA NEGREA has a prodigious activity as a pianist, piano teacher and musicologist.

Thus, her impressive professional career begins at the „Carmen Sylva” College of Arts in Ploiești, as a piano teacher, then appointed head of the piano department and the teacher in Music History. During this time, she held works of instrumental pedagogy and musicology, presenting the life and work of composers, problems of interpretation aesthetics, problems specific to individual education etc. for teachers, within the County Music Teachers’ Circle and some actions initiated by the House of Faculty – Prahova.
She was part of the juries or organizing committees for various competitions (e.g. the „W.A.Mozart” National Music Contest in Târgovişte, the „C. Czerny” Piano Technical Contest in Piatra-Neamț, the National Interpretation Contest – Ploieşti).

As a pianist, Miruna-Maria Negrea has won many awards for interpretation at various competitions, she was a permanent collaborator of the „Paul Constantinescu” Philharmonic in Ploiesti, initially only as a soloist, then as a pianist in orchestra, and since 1992, for 22 years, she also presented all concerts of the symphonic orchestra. For these presentations, the Prahova County’s authorities awarded her the Diploma of Honor for Artistic Merit in June 1999. In the period 2012-2014 she served as Artistic Director of the „Paul Constantinescu” Philharmonic, Ploiești.
In various local newspapers or on the Paul Constantinescu Philharmonic site, she signed more than 450 chronicles and collaborated
with national publications. She has made over 1500 radio shows „Music Hour” and has been invited to participate in several TV shows at local stations.
With her father’s support she founded in 1996 „Martian Negrea” Cultural Foundation – in the memory of his grandfather, the composer Marțian Negrea – Foundation whose goal is the promotion of Romanian and universal musical values ​​(performers and composers). At present she is the President of this Foundation under the aegis of which she initiated the „Marțian Negrea” National Interpretation Competition.
For her work at „Carmen Sylva” – Ploiești College of Arts, at „Paul Constantinescu” Philharmonic – Ploiești and as president of „Marțian Negrea” Foundation she got several awards: Diploma of Excellence and Medal of Honor for the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Philharmonic – Ploiești (May 2002), Diploma of excellence for teaching activity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the College of Art -Ploieşti, Diploma of Excellence for the Promotion of Young Romanian Performing Talents (March 2009) awarded by the City of Ploiești,
Medal of Honor for the entire activity awarded by the City of Ploiești
(October 2009), the „Musica viva” Prize awarded by the Romanian Musical Forum (December 2009).
In December 2010 she held at the National University of Music Bucharest the Doctorate Thesis entitled „Acoustic Highlights in the Piano Creation of the composers Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel” (coordinator – Prof. Dr. Șerban Dimitrie Soreanu), obtaining the high degree of Doctor in Music with the qualifier Magna cum Laudae.
