Xianji LIU won the 50th Tarrega International Classical Guitar Competition in 2016. He is the first China native to achieve this in half a century.
In September 2018, the guitarist Xianji LIU returned to his alma mater. He went to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music as a high-level talent introduction. He is now an associate professor of classical guitar and a master tutor.
Studies
Prof. Dr. Xianji LIU graduated from the High School Attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He also graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music. His education continued at the Cologne Conservatory of Music in Germany. In 2018, Liu Xianji reached a significant milestone. He obtained the highest degree from the Weimar Liszt Conservatory of Music in Germany. This degree is a doctor of performance.
