Faraway place of wonders

The trees have told me about my past,
Of my origins and home,
Of a faraway place of wonders
Where only creatures of stars roam.
It took me by surprise to hear
Of every corner and edge
Filled with wonderous love,
Marked by the planet’s solemn pledge.
I come from a faraway place of wonders,
Still my feet touch the ground,
My lungs are filled with air,
My purpose somewhere waiting to be found.

At war with time

Where could you run
When your wings are cut down
Between the walls of your cage
With such unspoken rage?
When all is said and done,
There shall be no one
Left to tell the story
Of those lost in the glory
Of vicious men
Forced to fight amongst them.
Their voices will be lost
And what will be the cost?
This war will spare no son,
There is nowhere to run,
When all is said and done.

The colors of my emotions

Between shades of blue sadness,
I reach for rays of yellow happiness,
Constructing my own little bubble of safety,
Within the violent threats of my nothingness.
I want to reach for the golden light of the Sun
But however hard I try,
I am only met with the coldness of the Moon,
The priestess of the night’s sky.
The unforetold destiny,
Hers and mine is the same,
Always forced to watch from the distance,
Vanishing into darkness right away.
