Meet Prof. Paweł Dubiel: Violinist and Educator

Prof. Paweł Dubiel is a violinist, chamber musician and occasional soloist, but above all a dedicated music educator.

Studies

He graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. He studied in the violin class of Prof. Irena Żarnowska-Kuszewska, and a Master’s degree in 2021 under the supervision of Dr. hab. Jan Romanowski.

Pedagogical activity

He teaches at the First-Level Music School in Dydnia. He also teaches at the Self-Government First-Level Music School in Jeżowe. Additionally, he teaches at the Wanda Kossakowa State Music School of the First and Second Level in Sanok. There, he conducts instrumental classes and is actively involved in the organization of artistic events.

His students have won many awards. They have won more than 200 prizes and distinctions in total. These include awards at regional, national, and international competitions.

In his pedagogical work, he combines high technical standards with an individual approach to each student. He is interested in modern techniques of music education. He is also focused on creating engaging teaching materials. These include arrangements tailored to the abilities of young performers. He performs on a violin maker made by Wojciech Topa in 2019.

Artistic activity

Paweł Dubiel also has his own artistic achievements. He has received awards at international competitions as a soloist. He has also been recognized as a chamber musician. He has performed in many countries across Europe, Asia and Africa, presenting a wide repertoire and collaborating with various ensembles. In his concert activities, he is committed to discovering forgotten works by Polish composers. He aims to promote these works and bring them back to contemporary performers and audiences. He participates in many contemporary music premieres. These include compositions by Roman Drozd, Krzysztof Mroziak, Paweł Janas, Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk, Jerzy Mądrawski, Paweł Korepta, and Feliks Borowski.

He has participated in recording projects. These include Missa in C Dominicus Messe with the Nicolaus Choir and Orchestra conducted by Zdzisław Magoń. He also worked on the album Energico recorded with the Podkarpacka Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Dr. hab. Elżbieta Przystasz, along with other productions of this ensemble.
