Lady Emily
Miss Emily is not a true lady,
Though she could act like one, maybe.
All around the empty house,
When she is not chasing any mouse.
Miss Emily is not a true lady,
Sometimes she is rather shady.
Running all over the place,
Eyes on ghosts no one else can trace.
Belly up, but no rubs, please!
Your fingers may smell like cheese
She just washed her fur, Sir,
And now it’s all a blurry blur.
Good night, sweet little girl,
With a nose just like a pearl.
You may be a little fat,
But you’re surely the cutest cat.
The Biscuit Maker
There’s a new baker in this town,
With tiny mittens and a lovely gown.
Kneading, kneading through the day,
All these orders are from May!
Lovely blueberry dough,
In three hours, it starts to grow.
Once it’s placed upon a tray,
We know it’s time for more play.
Laser time, then fight a feather.
What’s the matter with this weather?
Spy on birds and scare a fly,
Nothing escapes her watchful eye.
Now, our baker’s feeling tired,
And her paws are less inspired.
She’ll hide beneath my old chair,
And snore like a great big bear.
See you later, my furry cat.
Meanwhile, I’ll knit you hat.
For I am the one true caretaker
Of the fluffiest biscuit maker.
A Birdie’s Adventure
Early mornings, happy songs,
Chirps from a birdie who longs
For more carrots, seeds, and friends,
And for playtime that never ends.
Noons bring a peaceful nap
Until little wings start to flap.
Time to fly from place to place,
Then hide inside that green vase.
Evening comes, it’s time to go.
Where to? We don’t really know.
Back in the cage beside the mirror,
All her peers want to go near her!
She tells stories of her flight,
Chatting, chatting until night.
Oh, how she’d play once more,
But bedtime knocks on the door.
