Eye to I
Eye in the sky
Looking upon I
Let me know if I
Am truly I.
Am I just an ‘I’?
Am I too an ‘eye’?
Looking to the sky
Eye into the eye,
I might understand
Or I may be just fooling.
I am lost in I,
In the eye of the sky,
Eye that’s fooling me.
I’m a fooling eye.
She Listens to Cicadas
She listens to cicadas.
She listens to cicadas
While waiting for something to change.
She listens to cicadas.
She wishes for the greater good.
She wishes for the greater good,
Yet no one’s there to save her, and so –
She listens to cicadas.
She begs God to make her wiser.
She begs God to make her wiser
So she could rid herself of the invisible chains binding her soul and mind.
She listens to cicadas.
She begs God to differ.
She wishes she could change the world,
And she thinks what she does is for the greater good, but all she can is –
To listen to cicadas.
Lightning, Thunder and Cicadas
Lightning, thunder and cicadas
Shattering my lonely night,
Bringing light and sound alike,
Matching my internal coil.
Will tomorrow’s Sun shine,
Over singing birds and people,
Or will darkness prevail
While the drums will guide me down?
On this fateful night I’m shaken,
And confused deep to my core
For decisions I have taken
Might cost me all... all... and all.
