Studies

Monika Urbonaite began her studies as a professional violist in Lithuania and completed her Master of Arts degree at the University Mozarteum Salzburg in 2011, with Professor Peter Langgartner..

Artistic achievements

At the age of 19 Monika Urbonaite became a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. This was followed by numerous orchestra tours with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Franz Welser-Möst, Ingo Metzmacher (Europe, South America, China), master classes (Vienna Philharmonic, Scharoun Ensemble Berlin, etc.), and solo and chamber music concerts in Vilnius, Salzburg, Vienna, Bukarest etc.

She was invited as soloist and chamber music participant to international festivals such as Carl Orff Festival Andechs (DE), Ferarra Music Festival (IT), Bolzano Music Festival (IT), Zermatt Music Festival (CH) and many others.

As a soloist she played several times under the accompaniment of Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker.

She worked as a violist in the St. Christoph Chamber Orchestra (LT), with the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker (DE), Camerata Salzburg (AU), Salzburg Orchestra Soloists (AU).

She is a member and solo violist of Philharmonie Salzburg (AU).
