
Alexandra-Ariadna Mihai is a coloratura soprano and professor at the Music School “Crina Mardare Music Experience” in Bucharest since 2007.
She is a graduate of the National Music University of Bucharest, Faculty of Musical Interpretation, Canto / Vocal Art specialty in the class of Prof. Dr. Silvia Voinea and Master studies of the same university, obtaining the master’s degree in Vocal Art as the best student of the year in her specialization in 2008.
She collaborated with the “Opéra-Studio de Genève” in Switzerland and performed French opera and operetta in Switzerland and France alongside the Orchestra des Musiciens d’Europe, directed by Jean-Marie Curti, starring: Olympia in “Les contes d’Hoffmann”, La Princesse Fantasia from ”Le voyage dans la Lune”, Catherine from ”Pomme d’Api”, Ernestine from “Monsieur Choufleuri”, Gigolette from “Tromb’al Cazar” and Boulotte from “Barbe-Bleue” by J. Offenbach.
She has performed in concerts in Bucharest and other big Romanian cities, at the ”Mihail Jora” concert studio of the Romanian Broadcasting Society with the National Radio Chamber Orchestra (the role of Madame Herz in “Der Schauspieldirektor” by WA Mozart, conductor Cristian Brâncuşi, Christ and the Archbishop, in the sacred cantata “The Passion of the Redeemer” by Diana-Iulia Simon), the Romanian Athenaeum, the Roman Arenas, the National Theater in Bucharest, the Dalles Hall, the Opera Studio of the National University of Music, at the French Cultural Institute etc.
Her repertoire includes roles from opera and concert arias by WA Mozart (Die Königin der Nacht, Blondchen, Konstanze), D. Cimarosa (Carolina), J. Offenbach (Olympia), A. Thomas (Ophélie), Ch. Gounod (Juliette), G. Verdi (Gilda), G. Donizetti (Lucia), R. Strauss (Zerbinetta), from opera of the XXth and XXIst century (Zița from „The Stormy Night” by Paul Constantinescu, Ofelia from “Hamlet” by Pascal Bentoiu , Ofelia in “In the Body” by Diana Rotaru), musical (G. Gershwin, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Stephen Schwartz) and classical crossover (Freddie Mercury, Mike Moran). She has performed concerts in Hungary with opera and musical repertoire, and performances in Paris with the roles of La Princesse-Papillon in “La Princesse-Papillon” by Ana-Iulia Giurgiu, directed by Dorothea Pancu and Gilda in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” workshop, conductor Sesto Quatrini, directed by Sergio Urbani.
She has participated in numerous editions of the international music festivals “Meridian”, “International Music Week”, “Music Target”, collaborated with contemporary music ensembles such as Profil, Opus.Art and Sonomania, directed by George Balint, Tiberiu Soare, Alexandru Solonaru, Lucian Beşchiu and Sebastian Felea, with works by Ana-Iulia Giurgiu, Catalin Cretu, Diana Simon, Diana Rotaru, Sabina Ulubeanu, Mihai Măniceanu, Adina Dumitrescu, Drew Wilson, George Balint and others.
She is very passionate about modern music, film music, and repertoire for children, her projects including doubling voices and musical direction for Disney animation films for cinema and DVD – Annabelle / Whippet Angel characters, Anne Marie in “All Dogs Go To Heaven “, China Princess and the musical direction in” The Legends of Oz – Dorothy’s Return” and “Ugly Puppets” – and original voices for animated characters for the big screen.
She loves the voices and the children enormously, watching with passion and joy their evolution.
