Visual Arts Section – Specific Rules

Please read the Specific Rules for the Visual Arts Section of the International Creation & Performance Contest. The Visual Arts Section of the International Creation & Performance Contest takes place in each subsection, each with the 4 age groups, presented below.

AGE GROUPS for the Visual Arts Section:

The Visual Arts Section of the International Creation & Performance Contest is aimed at children, young people and adults with artistic interests, as follows:

Group I – children aged 5 to 9 years

Group II – children aged between 10 and 14 years

Group III – young people aged between 15 and 19 years

Group IV – young people over the age of 20 (no upper limit)

THEME OF THE CONTEST:

The theme of the contest is the creation of a work inspired by a poem or short story from the Romanian or universal romantic creation, at the competitor’s choice. As an example of romantic writers: Mihai Eminescu, William Shakespeare, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, John Keats, Lord Byron, the Brothers Grimm, Alfred Louis Charles de Musset-Pathay etc. Send us the clearest photo of the work to be judged. We look forward to seeing your work!

Each competitor will send a very clear photo of their work.

For painting or graphics, the work must be done on paper / canvas, using one of the following techniques: pencil, charcoal, ink and pen, pastel, colored pencils, collage, watercolor, acrylic, tempera, oil or mixed media.

For modeling / sculpture, the work can be made of clay, wood, marble etc.

The photo must be sent, together with Annex 1, completed and scanned, as well as proof of payment of the competition fee, to the e-mail address: festivaluldearte@gmail.com. The email must include the title of the paper, the technique and medium used, the title of the poem / short story from which the competitor was inspired and the name of the writer.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

Photos must be clear, 300 dpi.

For modeling / sculpture, the work must be photographed from 3-4 angles (all around, natural light).

JUDGING CRITERIA:

  • The artistic and creative valences of the work;
  • Authenticity and originality of creation, the degree of artistic complexity;
  • Particularities of a compositional and technical nature of creation;
  • The impact of the transmitted message, its instructive-educational value;
  • Compliance with the techniques specific to each subsection.
