Empty threat
Oh to be wicked and grim,
To not care about her or him,
To only watch the back of your own,
But to never have somewhere to call home.
To never have your mother call,
To always have an empty hall,
To long for something to dearly miss,
That’s a feeling you want to dismiss.
You never have to worry about the foes,
But to not have someone mend your clothes,
Even after battle, even after the fight,
You might still think that you are right.
Hopeless romantic
I crave it as a starving man would his favourite meal,
I think I would even go as far as make a deal.
I wish upon every star, even in the darkest night,
I keep hoping it would work, it just might.
I beg for it, like the poorest man does for wealth,
I would follow it, even in sickness and in health.
I long for it, like a foolish child would their first love,
The kind you write about, and send it with a dove.
I desire it, just as a poet would his muse,
I still sob for it, even if it’s lose-lose.
I would bleed for it, as a knight would for his king,
You know it, the love that makes you want to sing.
Light
How come I never met you,
But I miss you like I did?
Whatever I hear about you,
I realise "I have that too".
I wish I could've heard your voice,
Or held your hand,
But I know that it wasn't your choice,
To go so soon.
Why did your light wither away,
As soon as mine lit up?
Tell me God, at the end of the day,
Why did you have to send her up?
But I have to live with it,
The feeling of uncertainty
The one I have to admit
Is based on fragility.
And you will never be forgotten,
You can be sure of it.
Because we have so much in common,
Even the way we knit.
